
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of the San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain of the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut at the time and played a major role in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She was second in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in one year. The following year, she was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
