Antonia Lofaso
Antonia's Lofaso invites guests to discover her worldview by the food she cooks. Her curiosity grew as she left for the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. Cavatelli and Carnitas are able to coexist in harmony on the menu, a belief which has evolved over the years. With every dish she serves she draws a picture that is distinct and speaks to a longing for the past. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso who was influenced with her Italian American heritage. It received the warmest welcome. The old-fashioned Italian version is regarded as to be one the Los Angeles' most captivating eateries. Lofaso is consistently praised by Scopa's patrons for serving food that feels authentic and deliciously satisfying. Lofaso was a student of legendary chefs and absorbed their sophisticate techniques but she never hesitated of taking risks that were too high to be true to her own instincts. She swiftly rose up the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago before moving on to work closely with famous chefs in a variety of Los Angeles kitchens. Lofaso established Black Market Liquor Bar with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi in Studio City, California. She was able to secure the space within Black Market as well as the alliances she created. Lofaso was able to achieve the creative spirit she desired through her collaboration. Black Market does not have any one specific direction, which is the reason why it was created. It would start by serving dill-flavored chips on potato, Shishito peppers, and follow up with Korean wings. Antonia anchors the bold range of flavors. Lofaso's success has been measured by her ability to be authentic to her own taste while knowing her viewers. Her appearances on the Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars emphasized her ability to express her self outside of the culinary environment. In the years since, she has continued her professional career before cameras as a CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge and recurring appearances on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso joined forces together with Penguin at the end of 2012 in order to publish The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 recipes for Delicious homemade Meals. The book contains her personal story of the challenges she encountered while attending the French Culinary Institute and raising her daughter Xea. Lofaso claims that the motivation to her achievement comes from the kitchen. This is the way she maintains a constant pulse of the latest happenings. Through the Chefletics brand, she is altering the appearance of her industry by re-designing chefwear for both style and practicality. Lofaso is determined to stay true to the goals of her clients. She has created Antonia Lofaso Catering to help achieve that.
